For more than 8 years, MacroSys has helped to establish the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) as the leader in SharePoint technology and business intelligence (BI) solutions within the U.S. DOT through its
FRA eCollaboration and Records Support Services contract. MacroSys has been providing critical ongoing SharePoint, web technology, and records management expertise to U.S. DOT and FRA’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), Deputy CIO, IT Director, Webmaster, Records Management Officer, and other Federal staff.
MacroSys produced a redesigned external FRA website with a custom content management system, multiple mobile applications, an award-winning BI dashboard tool (Corporate Express), as well as a redesigned Intranet SharePoint site. All of the products created by MacroSys helped increase productivity and collaboration across FRA. Specifically, the redesigned website and mobile applications aided FRA in better meeting user needs by clearly communicating important information in a clear and concise manner and organization. This ultimately increased efficiency and aided in content evolution across FRA. Additionally, the robust functionality and ease-of-use of Corporate Express became well-known across U.S. DOT and has led to FRA entering
five interagency agreements to create a core set of dashboards for use by other u.S. DOT modal agencies.
As a result of this continued success, Corporate Express is transitioning to OST for all agencies to leverage it.
MacroSys revamped the external website by designing and developing a new user interface and building a custom content management system. In addition, MacroSys introduced several new features to further improve both the user experience and internal management of the site, including an eLibrary and a small business vendor database.
MacroSys has extensive experience designing, programming, and deploying mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms using an agile management approach. Our experts created several mobile apps under this contract, including Laws & Regs and Rail Crossing Locator.
Corporate Express is an award-winning BI dashboard that started as a development challenge from the FRA Deputy CIO who wanted a product that would help FRA use and manage data by rendering information graphically. MacroSys combined and leveraged existing institutional and administrative data in a data coherency engine and created several dashboard UIs for accessing data. The final UI visualizes key performance indicators and delivers drill-down capabilities to consistently support data.
